This Wednesday I attended a small celebration we had at Ntirety at Maggiano's Little Italy Restaurant in Boston. The celebration was with some of our Database Service Desk team members and some of our Microsoft SQL Server team members. We were celebrating a recent upgrade we did to the capabilities of the Ntrust® Database Appliance. 

For those of you who have never eaten at Maggiano's, its must to attend if you love Italian food. Maggiano's is a chain restaurant I was lucky enough to first experience when I was in the city of Chicago.

The quality of the food is only exceeded by the quantity of the food. When you eat family style, the food just keeps coming and coming. I recommend that you don’t eat the day you are going to Maggiano’s. At this event everyone was warned, no ties allowed.

This is a particularly difficult concept for Ron Desjardin Ntirety's director of operations to understand.

 

Well Ron was warned, as was everyone else. Well unlike the rest of the attendee's Ron would not listen, or take the warning to heart that Maggiano's was a NO TIE zone.

Rumor has it, even on Ron's last Caribbean vacation; he was wearing a tie while on the beach.

Well guess what happens when you tempt fate……

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Well cutting Ron's tie, was like trying to cut in Superman without Kryptonite. Superman may be the man of steal. Ron, was the man wearing a tie made of steel. Well for tose of you are interested it is possible to buy a tie made of steel at www.Zazzle.com

If you are wondering what a steel tie would actually look like...

Well Ron's tie was a close cousin to the Steel Tie from Zazzle.com. It turned out to be a group effort to enforce the NO Tie Zone at Maggiano's in Boston but we did manage to do it.

At one point, when a man can't get the job done by himself, what does the smart man do. He asks for help from a woman. Well our own Terrie White came in and saved the day.

So if Ron's wife wants to know what really happened to the tie, the official answer is Terrie White cut it off. Thats my story and I am sticking to it....

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

So Ron's was without a tie for the first time in his adult life I suspect. Here is the proof....

I want to share one last observation with everyone. We were all stuffed and could not eat another bit. When desert was served. Here is a picture of one of the deserts that was placed on the table....

I turned around and the plate was empty, I almost did not get one.

Well another really good time has come to an end and it's time for me to go back to my real job.
